Carlton James is a Consultant Specialist in Communication, Communications and Public Affairs. He displays strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills; and superior writing, presentation, and public speaking skills. He is sought after as a moderator where respect for protocol is critical.

He is the Owner and Communications Director of Strategic Advisory and Communications Services (SACS) https://www.sacs.co.gy, Director of the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI), and Director of the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority. SACS advises on mediation, advocacy and engagement with communities, as well as Reputation Management and mentoring for management staff of corporations.

He facilitates community engagement and participation in support of development initiatives particularly incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Carlton James was ExxonMobil-Guyana’s first Director of Government Relations from spud to First Oil, 2015-2020; Advocacy and Communications Adviser to the CARICOM Secretary-General; providing support to the fifteen Member States of the Caribbean Community CARICOM, Communications Advisor to the Government of Suriname (Office of the Vice-President), Government of the Cayman Islands, and Communications Consultant to Conservation International (CI) and World Wildlife fund, (WWF) Guyana.  

He served as Head of the News and Data Team at the United Nations Environment Programme Headquarters, and Special Assistant to The UN Secretary-General’s Special 

Representatives for Sudan and Somalia. Additional missions to Northern Iraq/South-Eastern Turkiye complement his communication and mediation work in regions of armed conflict.
